MTS - Music Transcription System. Tandy 1000's [especially RL/SL/TL/RLX/etc] Taking special advantage of Tandy's sound capabilities, MTS allows you to do amazing things with your Tandy. On any Tandy 1000, it allows you to play songs, with words and music on the screen, in three voices. It also allows you to easily compose your own music in three voices, and write the words to them. You can print them out at a high quality on an Tandy dot matrix [any Epson compatible printer. At oak.oakland.edu there are Epson emulators for HP Laserjet owners. But if you have a Tandy 1000 RL/SL/TL/RLX/RSX, or any 2500, it turns into a tool that you will be astounded at! (at least I was!) You can: sing along with the music as it plays. Then it plays back the notes - not ONLY the notes in the song, but the notes you SANG, telling you which ones you got in tune, and hearing just how off (or on key) you were. You also can SING songs *right into the music editor*! As you sing, it figures out the pitch of each note. It doesn't matter if you sing with the words or if you hum it - it will pick up the notes correctly. [and if you can't sing it correctly yet, use the program for a week and it will teach you how to sing in tune] Then, after you sing the song into the music editor, you can *automatically* add things like: harmony, dissonance, and *words*. If anyone has a Tandy 1000/2500 - this is worth adding to your collection - especially to owners with the digitized sound chip and microphone! Ken kudut@ritz.mordor.com
