Date: January 14, 1993 From: kudut@ritz.mordor.com (Kenneth Udut) Subj: Making Professional Sounding Digitized Sound Files in DeskMate SOUND. {Created while on America Online} Do the sounds to record using SOUND sound, well ... a little hissy and unprofessional? Or do you receive other SOUND.PDM sound files that sound kinda hoeky? Well, here's what you do: Highlight (using Shift-RightArrow) a "flat section" of the recording. You can change the increments to smaller or larger ones using the menu under F6. Hit Control-P or pull down the F4 menu and select Play Highlighted. Make SURE that what you have selected doesn't contain any necessary data (like voice, music, or any other kind of wanted sound). Then hit F4, select SILENCE, and you are finished! Play the completed product and make sure you save it! You have successfully started on your way to more professional recordings using DeskMate's SOUND! --Kenneth Udut, on January 14, 1993 Proud Owner of a Tandy 1000 TL w/768K memory, TGA graphics, and a 50 meg hard drive.
