Toad ---- Toad is a rendition of the "Frogger" arcade game of the 1980's. For those of you who don't remember (or never even heard of it), the goal of Toad is to safely escort toads from the bottom of the screen to the safety of the recesses in the hedge at the top of the screen. The only thing barring your path is four lanes of traffic, a roaring stream (which you must cross by hopping from log to log), some wandering snakes, submerging turtles, and oh yes, a time limit. Toad is a 32 bit C++ program written using Watcom C++. As such, it requires a 386SX or better processor. In addition, Toad needs an EGA or VGA compatible graphics display and at least about 3 Meg of memory for best results. If a SoundBlaster compatible card is available, the game will make use of it. To install the game, copy the SETUP.BAT file and the INSTALL1.EXE file to the directory where Toad is to be installed. Next run the SETUP.BAT file. The setup will build subdirectories for storing graphics and sound files associated with the program. When the setup is complete you may delete the SETUP.BAT and INSTALL1.EXE file to save disk space. To run the game type TOAD and press ENTER. (If you wish the game to play QUIETLY with no music or sound effects, type TOAD Q.) While playing the game, you may use the following keys: Arrow keys: Move the toad in the direction indicated B or b: "Boss" mode P or p: Pause the game until p or P is pressed again Q or q: Quit the game That's about all there is to it. Play, enjoy, and don't forget to register! If you run into any problems with the game please send me a message at spidey@metronet.com and I will try to get it resolved as soon as possible.
