DKQUEST is a utility that will display a summary of current quests in a saved game. The report is sent to the screen (but you can redirect it to a file or printer). Copy the file DKQUEST.EXE into your Darklands directory (not the saved game directory). USAGE: DKQUEST or DKQUEST where is the number of the saved game you want to report on. If you wanted to get the report from DKSAVE8.SAV, you would type DKQUEST 8. If you do not specify a saved game number, it will report on your most recent saved game. The report consists of a heading identifying the file and then one or two lines for each quest still pending. An example report: Quests for DKSAVE1.SAV Bremen Darklands 1402/11/18 18 Return Sworn Statement to Luxemburg by 1403/01/30 19 Get Illum. Gospel from Spring (near Bremen) (no limit from 1401/09/27 11) Deliver to Wittenberg Get Hyoscyamus from Cave (near Bamberg) (no limit from 1401/11/09 10) Deliver to Magdeburg Raubritter Quest - go to - Oberkatz (near Paderborn) by 1404/01/07 13 Get History Scroll from Koblenz (no limit from 1402/11/16 14) Deliver to L|neberg The report is fairly accurate, in the testing I've done I've only come across two anomalies. Once the time was reported as 30 hours (the file really had the value 30), the other instance it said a cave was near Lubeck but I could never find it. Unfortunately, I just haven't had the time to hack my way through to figure out who actually gives you the quest, but at least this utility will give an idea of what still needs to be done. I've found that with Darklands version 6, all the non-Raubitter quests seem to have an end date of 1499 (in the saved game file) meaning you have darn near forever to go get the item so it's reported as "no limit" and instead reports the date that you were given the quest. Once you get the item, the end date is one year from the time you get the item. You may want to include it a batch file that starts up Darklands, putting the line DKQUEST>LPT1 in a batch file (put it before the command to start Darklands) will print out the report for your most recent saved game to your printer.
